Who We Are

We are the Grantham Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).

CAMRA is a national organisation which supports real ale, real pubs and consumer rights. Recent campaigns include the 'LocAle' campaign, highlighting the environmental benefits and reduced 'food miles' incurred by locally-produced beers; and Take it to the Top, which campaigns for legislation to ensure that every pint served is a full pint.

CAMRA nationally is structured into regional branches, and Grantham CAMRA is one such branch. We meet regularly at local pubs to vote for the Pub of the Month and Pub of the Year, one town pub and one country pub for each award. Nominations for these two awards determine which pubs will appear in the Good Beer Guide.

Grantham CAMRA also appoints Brewery Liaison Officers, who provide two-way feedback between brewers and members. Local branch members have a good rapport with licensees in the area, and often support the local pubs not just through their custom, but through offering feedback from the branch to the licensees.

If you are a CAMRA member in or around Grantham and you have never been to a meeting, why not contact us and come along next time? The more members who actively attend meetings, the more representative of the local real ale community we will be.

Not a CAMRA member yet? Thinking about joining CAMRA but just haven't got round to it yet? Sign up and make a difference today.
